Get Fuzzy and Politics #5 – The people’s debate…

Posted by MJ on October 23, 2008

I have not been blogging of late due to Presidential campaigning burnout but taking a little time to continue my series Get Fuzzy and Politics. Here is the latest political themed comics from Darby Conley’s Get Fuzzy that pits Rob “the liberal” Wilco against Bucky “the uninformed ignorant Republican” Katt in their own debate.

Get Fuzzy and Politics #4 – Bucky learns Sarah Palin is picked as VP

Posted by MJ on September 16, 2008

It was only a matter of time before Darby Conley tackled Sarah Palin as the VP choice in his Get Fuzzy comic.  I have a history of posting the Get Fuzzy strips that step into the realm of politics.

Bucky B. Katt is shocked like the rest of the world that McCain picks the less experienced of the famous Palins for his running mate.

Not to worry, Buckey like any good Republician no matter how uninformed on the subject at hand will just follow the party line. Satchel changing up Michael Palin lines from Monty Python made me laugh out loud.

Get Fuzzy and Politics #3

Posted by MJ on September 8, 2008

Once again I am going to highlight Darby Conley’s Get Fuzzy comic, one of my favorite cartoons I read daily. I have posted other political themed strips in the past here and here.

I think of Barack Obama who has carried a big stick during this campaign to strike back at every turn the attacks by the McCain campaign and needs to continue to do so for the next two months. Obama gets my respect even in the unlikely event he loses this election for trying to be different and bring a real voice of change. Note, Obama is not really that much of a liberal let alone a socialist like most right wingers try to paint him as out of desperation.

John McCain has been trying to steal the idea of change from Obama now by claiming to be the reform candidate.  Seeing that McCain has been in Congress for 30 years and supports most of George Bush’s policies and is from the incumbent party this is hard to shallow. The people will feel like they have been punched in the eye if McCain is elected President for sure.

Get Fuzzy and Politics #2

Posted by MJ on May 6, 2008

It’s no secret that I enjoy the comic Get Fuzzy, by Darby Conley especially when he gets political and there were a number of strips that fit the bill from last week. I posted a strip in the past where Mr. Conley touched upon the lack of meaningful 3rd parties in our political system which is a classic you should also check out. I hope you enjoy the comics and my comments on each one.

“I mean you are really low. You’re like a Democrat with a canker sore.” What the hell does that even mean? LOL

Get Fuzzy and Politics

Posted by MJ on July 23, 2007

One of my favorite comics Get Fuzzy, by Darby Conley this Sunday had a nice commentary on how our political parties currently work(or don’t). It’s unfortunate that the current system basically prevents 3rd parties from being viable. Maybe someday we will have election reform so our system more matches how political parties work in most European Democracies.
