Breaking News – John McCain suffers heart attack and rushed to hospital!
Posted by MJ on June 2, 2008
John McCain, the Republican Presidential nominee has been rushed to a near by hospital with chest pains and apparently in cardiac arrest which was reported by CNN today. There will be a update on his condition later today which is the only information aids to McCain have released so far.
OK OK… I totally made up the headline and the first paragraph and this is just going to be one of my rants. John McCain is in excellent health (benefit of the doubt here) as of right now but that is subject to change. In fact, I will use this post as a place holder in the unlikely event McCain is elected President. Really at 71 years old (72 in August) what else could we expect during his term? Being that Dick Cheney is still VP we can say George Bush’s biggest accomplishment as President so far is not dying. McCain’s choice as running mate will need to be a sound one considering his age. Condoleezza Rice? Now you can see my point here.
The Republican party faithful like their candidates old and pasty white but what about the rest of us? I think the oldest generation has held power long enough and has messed things up real good for us all so maybe it’s time to pass the touch. We need a candidate who will get the America people excited again and McCain who would be better suited for a Viagra commercial is not it.
Some people would counter and say McCain has experience… I don’t know about you but someone who is pro-war, embraces the failed currant President, has flip-flopped his positions, and gets confused between Sunni and Shia (video) is not the the kind of experience we should be looking for. Google the words McCain and confused when you have some time on your hand. Really, do we need another sitting President with Alzheimer’s?
Let’s not forget McCain has not really released his medical records to the public either. We can look beyond McCain’s physical health or if he can get a erection for a second but what about possible mental issues? This is a man who has been held captive and tortured in war so who knows what made up demons lurk in his mind. It is well known that McCain easily loses his temper with friends and even called his own wife a c*nt in front of other people. He just does not appear stable enough to be able to handle the pressures of being President.
I wish McCain had beaten out Bush in 2000 but now his time has already pasted. Sorry, we do need to question if McCain is really up to snuff to be our next President. I very well could be to hard on the old man but what do you think?

MJ, while I fully understand your point, I do think your headline is unwise as it might create alarm for some folks. I myself, fell for it before reading your post and immediately googled McCain to check it.

I don’t think anyone will be to fooled or that alarmed. McCain doesn’t seem to cause people to feel real passion towards him. Almost all his support steams from the dislike of the other candidates for one reason or another. He’s not black, a woman, a Morman, a Democrat, and etc…

Matt P, don’t consider this luck. The easily defeatable Republican we have is better than the one we might get under other circumstances.

This election has less to do with the Republican nominee and more with if the people will see past the right wing fear and division tactics and vote for a black man.

That is a pretty broad brush. My family contains predominantly Cuban and French blood, and I was once a Republican. And for the record I tan quite well- my blog showcases proof of that.
“I think the oldest generation has held power long enough and has messed things up real good for us all so maybe it’s time to pass the touch.”
You are right, maybe it is time for the younger generation to make some mistakes of their own. The kind of mistakes that only young folks who think they know better than their elders can make. But can we still be thankful to those pasty old slave owning white guys who gave us free speech, freedom of assembly, etc.?
“We need a candidate who will get the America people excited again and McCain who would be better suited for a Viagra commercial is not it.”
Sorry, but Bob Dole already did that and kind of killed the market for Republican spokesmen for sexual performance enhancing drugs.

This article and the comments supporting it show the true lack of class by many Obama supporters. Calling a McCain heart attack “lucky.” Questioning his mental stability because he was tortured. Saying the only people who will vote for him or care about his health are the ones who don’t want to vote for a woman or black man.
You folks seriously need to get over your Messiah. Maybe we don’t like Obama because his judgement stinks. Maybe we don’t like Obama because when the going gets tough he shows no resolve and instead runs away. Maybe we don’t like Obama because he has the most liberal voting record of any sitting Senator. Maybe we don’t like Obama because he has zero experience at national politics. You sure can’t count his Senate experience, since he has spent most of that time on the campaign trail.
It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with the fact that he is a pure socialist. Why not save the race card for his wife to play?
Incidently, McCain’s mother shows the longevity in the McCain family. Is Obama’s mother still alive? Maybe he is who you should be worrying about….

Red Pill, we don’t like McCrazy…
Because he’s a crook (Keating 5)
Because he called his wife a c**t & a whore
Because he’s got at the very least 50 lobbyists working for him
Because he owns 9 houses and is worth hundreds of millions of dollars
Because his wife won’t release her tax returns in full (holdings in the Military Industrial Complex? Could be)
Because he voted for the Iraq occupation
Because he loves the idea of torture
Because he’s old, cranky, and NEEDS A TELEPROMPTER TO SPEAK
Because he loves GEORGE BUSH
Because he’s for NOT REGULATING THE BANKS DURING THIS MORTGAGE CRISIS & has former Senator Phil Gramm working for him (he’s a lobbyist now…for banks), you know, the guy who was connected to Enron (his wife too) & who is now McCrazy’s economic advisor and whom McCain will vote on the Senate floor any way Phil wants him to
Because he sucks at foreign policy! Being a POW does not make you an expert and the fact that McCain hadn’t read a newspaper in years to know that Saddam Hussein was making threats BUT WAS NOT AN ACTUAL THREAT TO US AT ALL! McCrazy and others keep saying America is weak against nations like this. Poppycock! But hey, if you have holdings in the Military Industrial Complex, then you LOVE WAR & THE KILLING OF INNOCENT PEOPLE!
Give me Barack Obama who is a clean slate! Our country needs him right now.

Tex, I’m puzzled at to why you don’t see that your style of argument does your cause no good whatsoever. For starters, it is more effective to debate your opponent than give them juvenile insults. Your attack on Kay shows the lack of depth of your argument.
You are drunk on the koolaid when it comes to Michelle Obama. She never said she hates America. She was saying that for the first time in her adult life she was seeing an unprecedented level of involvement and enthusiasm in the political process and this made her proud. Sometimes I think conservatives need cochlear implants since they cannot properly hear what liberals are saying.
When you get to how Obama is raising his kids, your analysis devolves into something worthy of MAD Magazine. “…jihadists, anarchists, thugs, heathens, and other neo-pagan type Baal worshippers”. Absolutely hilarious. Trouble is I fear you were not attempting humor.
If McCain gets elected, I do hope he will call on you to take a break from blog commenting and go off to Iraq to fight our noble war. It is clear that unlike “Bambi” you would never run from such a fight.

While I agree that the title of the blog was a bit sensational, calling Sen. Obama “Osama” is certainly no better, and I would argue, worse.
For my own part, I wish that everyone would act more mature than middle schoolers and stop playing with other people’s names. That includes Kay, calling Sen. McCain “McCrazy” and you calling Sen. Obama “Osama.” You can make a point without name-calling, and someone might even have some respect for your opinion afterwards.
Contrary to the mentality of certain kool aid addicts, it is possible to respect people with whom you disagree.

I have a question to ask to “kayinmaine”. Why does Mccains wealth effect your vision of his politics? If myself or any other of Mccaines supporters even attempted to discredit obama or clinton based on gender, color, or any other outside influence that has NOTHING to do with politics would you not jump down our throats???????? Also, did Clinton not spend an estimated 19 million dollars of her own money on her campaign making her a “multi-millionare”? Maybe these are things you should think about? Your rants in your posting above are not only immature and disrespectful, but they show your lack of political knowledge and your tunnel vision which allows you to discredit a candidate because of the shallow hang ups that you have that come of as discriminatory….its upsetting

Your first two comments were deleted because you did not read my About page and the rules of conduct. Sorry but this is not a free for all blog like others and I do not allow personal attacks. I may have let it pass but you were also unable to make any valid points based on facts say like Kayinmaine for example.
I mean please try to be at least coherent and have some type of clue if going to leave a comment. I am a pagan? News to me… Goth looking? I don’t think so… I am a loser because I work at the library in the IT department…Huh? You are not even good at insults. The only loser I can see here is yourself. I have seen your comments on other blogs and your only purpose in life seems to be going from blog to blog leaving dumb ass comments and saying everyone that has a different opinion then yours hates America. Pretty sad…
If you like to try again and take a stab at a intelligence comment minus the personal attacks you would be welcome. Serious, we know that is not possible so maybe you should just move on to the next blog.

I was talking about the Presidential candidates being pasty white old guys which every one in the Republican field was (OK Mitt had some color to him) and not referring to all of the party faithful. Contrast that to the Democrat field who had younger, older, white, black, Hispanic, men, and woman among the fold. That maybe is the biggest reason why there has been record turn out in the Democrat primaries. People really will do want change and visual appearances even if not fair is a big deal to some people.
“But can we still be thankful to those pasty old slave owning white guys who gave us free speech, freedom of assembly, etc.?”
Only to some people and those freedoms were not fully utilized until almost 200 years later.

Sorry the mental and physical health of someone who is running for President is important. When a person was been held captive and tutored like McCain was I do question the state is mind is at. This shows when he makes statements like we will not leave Iraq even if it takes 1000 years. Sounds like he is still living in the Vietnam era…
“Maybe we don’t like Obama because he has zero experience at national politics.”
Say like George W. Bush before he was President? Sure, lets not count count his time in the Senate. I really think we need to stop looking just at a person’s political experience like it is the end all be all anyway.

McCain’s wealth (and Hillary’s) puts them in the elitist/DC Insider crowd. These two like to point fingers at Barack Obama as the one who is the “elitist” when he’s worth only $4 million with most of that “wealth” coming from the sale of two books.
This is why I mentioned McCain’s homes & money. To point out how hypocritical he’s being!
I have no problem with people having money. It’s how they treat others when they have it that I focus on. McCrazy has a reputation of being a complete asshole to other republicans on the floor of the Senate and has little friends there because of it. Hillary has used her supporters to take on the “victim” status and it’s not the right way to lead. She is not one of us, but pretends to be.
And let’s not forget what FOREIGN POLICY EXPERTISE HAS GOTTEN US:
Death squads in South America
Nuns being raped
Arms deals with China
Arms deals with Iran
Arms deals with Iraq
CIA killing people in our name
Illegal invasion/occupation of Iraq
Saudi Arabia financing 9/11/01
Our government protecting the illegal bank accounts in Dubai
Hey, the list goes on and on! At least Barack Obama views the world with the same eyes that most rational, intelligent Americans do! We need him right now.

Give me the Harvard professor who was born in Hawaii, who is Christian, who is caring, who has a white mother & black father, who is compassionate, who is a terrific father & husband, and who has testicular fortitude to go into the south side of Chicaco to “kick some ass”!
Oh that’s right. The Knuckledraggers of America (republicans who still love George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Karl Rove) only think in terms of Budweiser & gun holsters! *screaming laughter*

Yep, I must be a knuckle dragger, but I would rather have Bush/Cheney serve a third term than have a Socialist (ether Obama or Clinton) or a left leaning Republican (McCain.)
Cut my taxes and I resent subsidizing those who can work, but will not work. I think all welfare recipients or at least the “Head of household” for families receiving government assistance should have to pass a drug test to get my money.

Your comments are getting more bizzare. Do you take some type of medication? I am not sure why you think because I am tired with the current adminstration selling out our freedoms and wrecking our economy that I have a sad life. Maybe it is becuase I LOVE our country?
No, I am not a “hypocrite” and I do make valid points when give my opinion in a post. For example…
“I don’t know about you but someone who is pro-war, embraces the failed currant President, has flip-flopped his positions, and gets confused between Sunni and Shia(gave link to a video).”
McCain has no less then five times confused the Sunni and Shia in Iraq in public. This means even with all his “experience” he does not understand the dynamics in Iraq or he is just senile. This is what you would call making a vaild point when giving a opinion.
I didn’t understand your statement about moms and there kids but it was creepy.

Hey, I am a white male also but only for 38 years now. I agree with you on that it is not any type of accomplishment.
Well Obama being againest the dumb ass war from the beginning has proprosed a time table and exit strategy to bring our troops home. The Bush adminstation oddly never had a exit strategy before went to war. The idea that we need to talk to other nations that disagree with us instaead of using isolation (which does not work – see Cuba) or attacking them will go a long way in this changing world and restore our respect around the globe.
Obama also has plan to extend health coverage access to most Amercians while not good enough in my eyes is much better then what we have now.
As far as the econmy Obama wants to invest in our infrastructure (highways, public transportation, schools, internet, etc.) for growth as opposed to tax breaks to the rich and tax rebate scams.
Just Obama’s whole attitude of that we are all in this together and not looking to use fear and division to govern is a refreashing approach to going about getting something done.
Obama would really have to do very little to bring change after eight years of this do nothing administration.

Okay. A lot of speculation has been done as to whether or not we should have ousted Sadaam Hussein/invaded Iraq to begin with. I think yes. I’m sure you’ve heard the argument, was it wrong to be against Aldoph Hitler (He didn’t attack us, but was an ally to those that did) Again, I think yes. The world is better off without him and would be better off without Hugo Chaves and Mahmoud Adejenadad, also. Don’t make the mistake of thinking the US is above assassinating heads of state. Maybe we have the high ground or maybe not. Personally, I’m glad Hitler and Hussein are dead.
Respect around the globe? What is the difference? Not a rhetorical question to insult you, but what are the consequences of Europe being aggravated with us. England pays $6.00/gallon for petrol? Whoop-de-do. I want to pay $2 and even that is exhorbiant. We foot 80% of the bill for the UN, so, we should have 80% of the vote in world affairs. Either that or pull out. I don’t think you are going to like paying world taxes. I sure ain’t. We talked to Sadaam. We talked to him and warned/threatened him at least 17 times. Enough is enough and there comes a time to pull the trigger. I don’t want to pay for anyone else’s healthcare. I’m paying for mine and my family’s already. People that don’t have health care, get a job. IF you can’t get a job, then, we’ll help, but first, I want all the healthy drug addicts, alcoholics and idiots who wasted their time in school when they should have been planning for the future to sink or swim. I work. Why shouldn’t they. IF my money is going to be taken from me, I would at least like to see it go to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or Wounded Warriors or Meals on Wheels to shut ins and the elderly. Yep, we’re in this together but, the recipients of assistance bear some responsibility in this country as well as we do.
MJ "revoltingpawn" said

I am going to only respond to you briefly since we have gone off topic.
Comparing going to war with Hitler to Saddam (correct spelling for you) is ridiculous. Hilter and Germany were a real threat to us unlike Saddam’s Iraq. We have become a fear society and now have a hard time realizing real threats to us now.
Yes, the rest of the world does matter since we are now a global econmy where we are all connected with common interests.
Since you are worried about the government spending your money how about the 1 trillion dollars that went to the Iraq War? Bush was had record spending and deficts during his term and McCain supports his policies. Stop thinking somehow Obama will be worse.
So you know we already pay for health care and more then any other country in the world but 1 in 7 people have no coverage. That is a disgrace which needs to be corrected and if done right we would be paying less. Yes, it can be done.
davisoftheapes1 said
I forgot about illegal aliens. I also don’t want to pay for the healthcare of illegal aliens. I want all them to go back to Mexico. DOn’t hate em, just want them to go back to Mexico.
