Get Fuzzy and Politics #2

Posted by MJ on May 6, 2008

It’s no secret that I enjoy the comic Get Fuzzy, by Darby Conley especially when he gets political and there were a number of strips that fit the bill from last week. I posted a strip in the past where Mr. Conley touched upon the lack of meaningful 3rd parties in our political system which is a classic you should also check out. I hope you enjoy the comics and my comments on each one.

“I mean you are really low. You’re like a Democrat with a canker sore.” What the hell does that even mean? LOL

I would have to agree the Democratic party leadership and Congress do not have spines. They continue to let George Bush and company get away with thier crimes against the people and it may cost them the Presidency again. This idea will be part of a upcoming post so please stay turned…

This strip ties in with my recent post “One picture of what happened to Made in America…” that you should check out now.

I don’t even want to know what neocon smells like in the morning. The American Flag label pin thing is something that Republicans use to show their paper tiger patriotism. I still can’t believe Obama was asked about not wearing a flag pin. This actually passes as a relevant and ‘tough’ question these days.

Bad Canada, with their socialized health care (I could use some) and money that has value. I think it is time we demand that recreational marijuana users not be criminalized any more. I find it funny how health care access is only barely discussed more then legalizing marijuana on the presidential trail. We have the Rev. Wright to talk about which is so much more important…

As someone who graduate from the same high school as Darby, I salute your taste in comics.
    Besides that, he’s just good.

How about *graduated*; excuse my conjugation.

  3. Thanks for your comment(s). LOL I read Get Fuzzy everyday but still think his earlier comics were his best work. Do you have a blog of your own? If you are on MySpace feel free to add me as friend.

I am once again going to have to put some facts on you, not to offend but to hopefully educate.

No, why would I be offended that in your first sentence you refer that I am uneducated. I normally delete irreverent off topic rants like this but felt would share your stupidity with the rest of the world in this case. You left a similar comment on the Get Fuzzy and Politics #3 post for some reason and just deleted that one. Not a fan of the comic?

Socialized healthcare has failed. It can’t be sustainable funded much like all other government programs. We are doing well to keep the military going and after Clinton it was hard to get them to where they are today.

Socialized medicine has failed? I wonder how France or Canada thinks about that? One out of seven Americans have no health care and we pay more already then any other country right now. First off, why the term “socialized health care”? We don’t refer to our educational system as “socialized education”. Any possible new health care system does not need to be based on any other countries health care system. What, America can’t have a better health care system then any of these other “socialized medicine” nations. Positive thinking goes a long way, friend.

Our military was second rate under Clinton? That was just some nonsense statement by you.

You should probably look at news reports that are not originating from this country or from political ads. If facts bore you could check out some new British comedies like A League of Gentlemen. They have some pretty good commentary on things like socialized medicine and its many wonderful benefits (like waiting a month or more to get an appointment, the lack of good doctors, lack of space, doctor to patient ratio …). Actually, if you spent any time at all in the military in the past 10 years you will already know what is waiting for you with socialized healthcare. Misdiagnoses, bottom rung physicians, poorly staffed health clinics … but no, you go ahead and vote that in.

Once again we can have better health care system then anyone and it could replace the currant veteran’s care.

I think it is so brave of the left to be able to forgive Obama for being racist since he denounced his racist pastor. I think it is honorable for the left to blame the whole Republican Party if just one person who happens to be republican messes up. I think it is stellar that the left omits that groups like the KKK and people like Bull Connor were strong arms for the Democrat party. I also find it admirable that they claim to be the party of freedom and liberty while they sue and threaten those who don’t believe they way they do; hypocrisy has no home in the minds of the liberal body.

    Only liberals sue people? LOL

It is commendable to forget Dr. Martin Luther King and President Abraham Lincoln were republicans and the first black political party was the Texas Black Republican party.

Who forgot? Dr. King and most black people were Republicans at the time because it WAS the party of Abraham Lincoln. Once the Republicans did not support civil rights legislation most black people switched to the Democrat party and most of the working class white (racist) people in the south moved to the Republican party. Maybe someday the Republican party will be the party of Abraham Lincoln and even fiscal responsibility once again.

Democrats are and have always been the party of intolerance. The only difference between today and when they were lynching black people is that now their intolerance has no racial boundaries. They are intolerant against anyone who will not believe the way the Dem/Lib wants them to. Dem/Libs have the audacity to point the finger at Christian fundamentalist but herald terrorists as either figments of the “neo-con” imagination or as freedom fighters. Beautiful.

Yes, the Democrats are the party of intolerance. They had a lineup for President of old, young, white, black, Hispanic, men, and woman running while the Republicans had a cast of old white guys. Liberals “herald terrorists as…figments of the…imagination”? Ok, time to go back on your meds…

I am going to leave your blog alone now because you are entitled to your opinion and so many people have died so you can say what you want.
