Video – Money as Debt

Posted by MJ on March 31, 2008

When was the last time you thought of how money is created or monetary policy in regards to the central banking system? Sure the same as me in almost like never and the subject is also ignored in grade schools and even in the mainstream media. Paul Grignon created a excellent animated video titled “Money as Debt”. The video educates the viewer on how money really is made and the almost to simple notion that money is not represented by it’s value but our debt.

Mr. Grignon at end of video does touch on some conspiracies and takes a socialist view for solutions. If you don’t buy into those ideas please don’t let them distract from the video’s main purpose of showing how money is made and the problems of our current monetary system. I myself can see how our current money system is coming into play in regards to our coming recession. Please watch the entire video and it will get you thinking also…

  1. Very interesting video.

Although I am familiar with most of the tenets of the information presented, I found it intersting how the video presents the idea of bartering as a possible solution to the current fiasco, that is modern banking. Bartering has been tried and subsequently failed because it is based on the honesty of the participants.

Good luck with that in modern society.

For someone who requires a layman view of modern economic policy and the central banking system, this video is perfect, and somewhat alarming to boot. It really should be required viewing for all school children.
